For quite some time now, the government has been campaigning against drug and substance abuse in the whole nation.
If you travelled at any part of the country, you can never miss a group that has come together to campaign against drug trafficking, either sponsered or by individual groups.
Even so, many people are still adamant to the government directive, in line with the ministry of health on this subject.
Somehow, it could be that they’ve not yet learnt well what awaits them in the future, with such characters.
This is what befell a 21-year old woman from Kiambu region. On Saturday morning, Rosemary Waithera Ngige was arrested by the national police service over drug trafficking.
In a tweet on the official National Police service page, it is said that police officers from kibicho police station are responsible for raiding a house of the young Rosemary, who had practiced the act of selling bhang for some time.
The police have had an operation for some time in the region, with the intention to target members selling illicit brews and other commonly abused drugs.
During their operation, Waithera was caught with a whole 810 rolls of bhang in her home Thuita village Komothai location. The village had had rampant accidents and deaths due to usage of banned drugs, making the residents of that region concerned. She was put in custody awaiting court judgement.
Drugs have been a contributor to poor economy as man power is compromised. Illicit drug users looses the sanity leading to poor mental judgement hence laziness.
Many diseases are as a result of drug and substance abuse. This includes liver cirrhosis commonly learnt in schools and other health compromising ailments.
It’s even worse if someone is addicted to using this drugs. This means they can’t do without them, and hence can do whatever it takes to acquire them. What follows is theft and other weird activities to acquire money.
