The Teachers Services Commission developed Teacher Performance Appraisal and Improvement as a termly instrument to keep teachers accountable for curriculum development.
The instrument, which has faced fierce criticism from instructors, is essential for teacher advancement.
TSC reminded teachers of significant documents that should be included in the TPAD file in one of its circulars. Documents in TPAD file documents must be prepared, used, updated, and kept often, per TSC rules.

The teacher will be evaluated based on how well they prepare, use, update, and keep the listed records. The instructions state that the head of the institution must make sure that the immediate supervisor checks this list each month.
The recommendations unambiguously state that administrators must set up safeguards to increase safety in educational facilities.
The principal is required to implement counter measures against environmental and technological risks, terrorism and radicalization, fire and other natural calamities, etc. Follow the guidelines in the Ministry of Education’s safety standards manual for Kenyan schools (2008), according to the publication.

~Mark books indicating pre-set target subject score, learners’ progress or value added records (assessment analysis continuous assessment tests)
~Analysis of previous years’ National Examination

~Activities with stakeholders.
~Integration of ICT in teaching.
~Learning and preparation of teaching aids using locally available resource materials.
Each of these 20 aspects has five marks. This means teachers and heads of institutions will strive to settle for a maximum score of 100 percent.
