The Director of Dispatches in Deputy President William Ruto’s crusade, Hussein Mohammed, has blazoned that the DP will swap the presidential debate unless the leading media stations reform their content of the election.
In a statement dated Thursday, June 2, Mohammed named Citizen TV, Inooro TV, Inooro FM and The Daily Nation as among the most notorious media houses in prejudiced reporting against Ruto.
He added that the stations had traduced the statutory terms of their licences as well as indigenous freedoms through the unstable allocation of content, and negative architecture of the UDA presidential seeker and his associates.
“ We wish to punctuate the notorious case of raw abuse of public bandwidth by Royal Media Services a designee which has converted its platforms, especially Citizen TV, Inooro TV and Inooro Radio to sanctioned crusade speakers of the Azimio La Umoja Team. The Daily Nation complements these abuses by getting their print counterpart.”
The report also read in part that they have advised the UDA presidential aspirant to never associate himself to such debates unless relevant reforms are fronted.
On the other hand, Roots party presidential seeker George Wajackoyah has been cleared by IEBC to dispute for administration in the August 9, choices.
Wajackoyah had been turned down on Monday because of inadequate autographs.
Wajackoyah failed to gain the needed autographs each county in at least 24 counties, according to Chairman Wafula Chebukati. The IEBC had given the leader of the roots party until June 2, 2022, to collect enough autographs to be eligible to run.
“ We’re going to come back as soon as possible. We’ve been cleared on all most everything, it’s just the one thing and we will amend, ” he said
He managed to meet the conditions on Thursday when he reappeared before IEBC president Wafula Chebukati.
