Police are investigating an incident that occurred late last night in Garissa town after gunmen mercilessly attacked and sprayed a politician’s car with bullets.
Garissa town MP aspirant Nasir Mohamed survived an assassination attempt after gunmen approached his vehicle and opened fire. The politician had packed his white Toyota Landcruiser V8 and stepped inside a facility.
However, gunmen pulled up and opened fire spraying his vehicle with tens of bullets, luckily, he was not in the car at the moment of attack. However, three occupants who were in the car were not hurt.
The UDM aspirant is seeking to occupy the seat which was being held by CS Aden Duale. Duale quit the seat after president Ruto offered him the powerful Defence docket.
Police have been urged to investigate the matter with immediate effect and offer it the priority it needs. The politician is currently in a safe place awaiting the police report on the attack.
His vehicle was towed to Garissa police station for further investigations.
