It has surfaced that DCI George Kinoti had been called in to carry out an disquisition to the reasons why Fednard Omanyala’s Visa to fly to Oregon, United States for the 2022 World Athletics Championship had been delayed.
Details have contended that addition of joyriders to the list of athletes, trainers and specialized officers submitted by Athletics Kenya( AK) was the mistake that contributed to Omanyala’s delayed flight.
It has surfaced that the trip list had been increased from 80 persons to 112 persons. This was a serious boob
that supposedly caused detainments in allocation of United States trip Visas to the athletes. This has been explained as one of the alleged reasons why Africa’s fastest man Ferdinand Omanyala nearly missed the fete.
“ It’s really shocking. This is a shame not to the country but to the whole world. We shall not accept, ” DCI Kinoti said as he revealed that examinations had begun.
There are also claims that joyriders paid backhanders amounting to Shs 2 million each so that they could allegedly be included in the list of athletes, trainers and specialized officers.
However the State Department of Sports officers have explosively denied the bribery allegations which have been likened to the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics games reproach whereby officers appropriated tickets, sporting gear and cash allowances which was planned for the athletes.
Joe Okudo who’s the star Secretary in the State Department of Sports said that no single government functionary travelled to the United States. He further explained that only six Ministry officers were listed to travel.
