Thousands of jobless P1 and Early Childhood Development Education( ECDE) preceptors will find it rough as the government won’t feed for their elevation programme
The programme which will take nine months and three months for tutoring practice, will involve P1 preceptors upgrading to Diploma in Primary Teacher Education( DPTE) while ECDE preceptors upgrading to Diploma in Early Childhood Teacher Education( DECTE).
According to an announcement placed by the Ministry of Education in one of the original domestics concerning the upgrade programme, the preceptors will be needed to pay the freights quested in the admission letter which will come with other conditions.

Aspirants with valid P1 and ECDE instruments who are registered by the preceptors Service Commission( TSC) will be considered for the upgrade programme, which will be completely domestic and whose operation started officially on July 29, 2021.
The announcement also stated that employed preceptors will have to stay a little bit longer for the academy timetable to homogenize, ahead serving from the academy- grounded elevation programme.
According to academy timetables released by former star Secretary of Education Dr. Belio Kipsang ’, the traditional January- December academy timetable is anticipated to renew in January 2024

The resolution of coming up with an elevation programme came after it surfaced that no schoolteacher will be registered or employed by TSC in future without a parchment.
Dr. Reuben Nthamburi Director Quality Assurance and norms prepared a frame on entry conditions to the tutoring profession which needed preceptors who have instruments in ECDE, Primary schoolteacher Education( PTE), and Diploma in Teacher Education( DTE) to have Post Training Certificate( PTC) to be certified for tutoring the faculty Grounded Class( CBC).
