Education ministry decided to postpone the reopening of ALL basic education institutions with effect from Monday, 15 August 2022, until Thursday, 18 August 2022 as result of the delay in the aforementioned current process.
Aforementioned circumstance sparked worries that a protracted school closure will result in a delay in the coverage of the curriculum for classes that will be sitting the national examinations for 2022 in November and December.
Even if the above situation has raised concern that a prolonged shutdown of schools will cause syllabus coverage , it is now clear that all learners will be taking their 2022 national exams in November and December.
Cs Magoha had already sent his apologies for the inconvenience occasioned by these changes and asked for indulgence even as the ministry work through ensuring the safety and comfort of learners through this period.
As School reopen next year, schools should be prepared for a double intake.Secondary schools will be receiving both KCPE and those from grade 6 joining junior secondary.
