In a mathematics competition held at the academy, Mang ’ u High School scholars outperformed scholars from 60 other seminaries.
Mang ’ u scholars dominated, taking first and alternate place in the 24th Mang ’ u National Mathematics contest to reclaim their title as the stylish boys ’ academy.
Murang’a High School finished third, while Samuel Njuguna of Nanyuki High School was the day’s calculation wizard in the boys ’ individual order.
In the girls ’ order, Mary Hill Girls took first place ahead of Bishop Gatimu and Moi Forces Lanet.

Individual girls ’ performance was led by Anita Jelang ’ at of Mary Hill, followed by Prudence Kimathi of Limuru Girls and Sharleen Maison of Moi Girls Isinya.
Dundori Secondary School won the mixed seminaries title, led by Eunice Muthoni, Nelson Kamau, and Teresia Wanjiru.
The triad came in first, second, and third place, independently. Dundori took first and alternate place in this order, with St Mary’s Yatta finishing third.
Joytown Special School took first place in the special seminaries ’ order.
Hilary Ruto, Ezra Mureithi, and Evans Mukeku led their special academy to first, second, and third place, independently.
The competition was last held in 2019 due to the Covid- 19 outbreak. The principal guest was Prof Gachuhi Waititu, an associate professor at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.
Waititu is the president of the Department of Statistics and Actuarial lores at JKUAT, as well as the acting head of Mathematics and Physical lores.

In 1996, the Mang ’ u mathematics department came up with the idea of depleting calculation in secondary seminaries to help neutralize the ongoing challenges that the core subject faced.
Math, according to Gachuhi, pervades all aspects of life, from vegetable and mitumba merchandisers to nearly all university- position subjects.
The slip encouraged scholars to exercise until they were perfect and to consult their associates and preceptors.
“ scholars need to know the different motifs and formulas to apply. They mustn’t wince down from asking their classmates and preceptors whenever they’ve challenges, also keep rehearsing what they’ve been tutored, ” he said.

Prof Gachuhi stated that statistics, math, algebra, and numerical analysis are all used in the medical and engineering fields.
John Kuria, the principal star of Mang ’ u, complimented the contest organizers on organizing the event in such a short period of time.
Kuria prompted all scholars to maintain their discipline in order to succeed academically. He also expressed gratefulness to the guarantors and promised to include more in unborn events.
According to Herman Maina, the head of the calculation department at Mang ’ u, the contest has handed a forum for commerce, exchange of ideas, and generating and maintaining interest in mathematics over the times.
“ We’ve also achieved another cardinal thing, change of station that only a certain quality of scholars can exceed in Mathematics, ” he said.
He praised the program’s crucial guarantors, including Mount Kenya University, Zetech University, KCB( Juja branch), and the administration of Mang ’ u High School.
MKU patronized the instruments and promised to continue doing so. MKU director of commercial services and communication Boniface Murigi stated that they would like to see a holistic approach to all subjects in order to produce well- rounded scholars.
Isaac Kirui, a pupil, stated that Mang ’ u High is the home of Mathematics.
