Man that “eats” own daughter.

Separation of family members that leads to murder

It has been a shock for the people of Piai village in Mwea, Kirinyaga county, after the body of a man and daughter have been discovered lifeless in a local lodge.

It was on saturday May 21st, when a 30 – year old man’s body was found in Mwea and body of 3 – year old daughter lying lifeless in a local lodge. This happened during the morning when workers were set to clean up the accomodations rooms.

Reports indicate that the man killed own daughter by poisoning her food while in the local lodge rooms. The man afterwards took several bottles of beer before committing suicide.

According to area police boss Daniel Kitavi, the man had gone out to have some fun in town with daughter. She was the only child born to that family.

The man had separated with daughter’s mother some times back due to domestic related challenges. He was therefore living with daughter alone in Wanguru town.

Kitavi also told a local nation that the man was unconscious during the whole act. This could be related to overconsumption of beer with aim to take own life, after murdering own daughter.

The police are doing investigations to establish the reason that prompted the man to commit the heinous act. The names of the two were concealed from the public until the family is informed of the incident.

The bodies of the deceased were taken to Kerugoya county referral hospital for postmortem to establish further the cause of death.

The people of Mwea especially men have been warned of allowing depression control them. Many deaths have recently been registered in the area whose roots have been traced to depressions and disappointments of life.

Every citizen is therefore urged to take control of their mind, shunning away from evil thoughts of suicide and murder.
