At the Musa Nyandusi Kegati High School in Nyaribari Chache, Kisii, a fire broke out before daybreak and completely destroyed a dormitory, destroying items of undetermined value.
It has not yet been determined what started the fire that was reported early on Tuesday morning.
According to the statements made by the police and other officials, there were no casualties in the incident.

Eric Ratemo, a local chief, said at least 77 students lost their property.
According to Ratemo, “the fire has been contained and there is no cause for panic, all students are safe.”
Majority of the students were in class when the fire broke out. Luckily, no student was injured.

Residents and Fire-fighters from Kisii County helped put out the fire.
Parents arrived at the institution to establish the fate of the children.
Investigations into the incident have already started. A contingent of security personnel has been also dispatched to the school to investigate the cause of the inferno.
