The general election in August 2022 is anticipated to bring Kenyans at least KSh 40 billion.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission( IEBC) proposed a KSh44.6 billion budget for the choices in 2022.

The Tuesday, August 9 election is anticipated to draw further than22.2 million registered choosers.

Wafula Chebukati, the speaker of the IEBC, remarked that each vote paper cost KSh 23.

According to Citizen Digital, this means that the commission will spend around KSh 2 thousand on each namer who’s registered.

Chebukati claimed in 2021 that the price of choices in the nation was rising with each general election. He added that the commission will spend KSh 588 million on copping

particulars that will cover choosers and bean workers from COVID- 19 after carrying KSh40.9 billion from the National Treasury.

The commission might spend vastly further than KSh40.9 billion if a presidential election is rehearsal. The IEBC spent further than KSh49.9 billion on choices in 2017 and KSh3.8 billion on security services.
