Riara University is currently accepting applications for the May 2022 intake for all Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidates for the years 2021 and 2022.
Those who have completed previous short courses and are interested in enrolling in the courses listed here are also welcome to apply.
Riara University arose from a genuine desire to give a comprehensive approach to higher education.

Bachelor of Laws
Admission Requirements
A C+ (plus) and above in KCSE or its equivalent, with a B plain in English or Kiswahili, or a minimum of three principal passes in KACE (or similar).
Should have a degree from a recognized university, or a Diploma in Law from a Council of Legal Education-accredited institution with an average grade of B; or GCE (A-Level) with a minimum of three principals.
SCHOOL OF INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS & DIPLOMACY
Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Diplomacy
A minimum of C plus (C+) in KCSE or a Riara University Diploma in International Relations and Diplomacy with a GPA of 2.00 (C) or an equivalent qualification from a CUE-recognized institution.
SCHOOL OF BUSINESS
(Accounting, Finance, Marketing, HRM, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Logistics Management)
C+ (plus) and C (plain) in English and Maths at the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or equivalent, or Diploma with a Credit pass in a relevant discipline from an institution recognized by the University Senate, or holder of any other qualification accepted by the University Senate as equivalent.
SCHOOL OF COMMUNICATION AND MULTIMEDIA JOURNALISM
Bachelor of Communication and Multimedia Journalism
A C+ in English or Kiswahili and a D+ in Mathematics in the KCSE, or a Diploma with a Credit pass in a relevant discipline from an institution recognized by the University Senate, or a bearer of any other qualification acknowledged by the University Senate as appropriate.
Diploma in Corporate Public Relations
A minimum grade of C- (minus) in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with a C or above in English or Kiswahili, or a D+ in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) plus a Certificate level qualification recognized by the Kenya National Qualifications Authority.
SCHOOL OF COMPUTING SCIENCES
Riara University is an ICDL and Appin certified training and testing center, as well as a CISCO, HUAWEI, IBM, and EMC training center.
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science
A minimum grade of C+ in Mathematics, Physics, or Physical Sciences (per semester), or a Diploma or Professional Certificate in a computing discipline from an institution recognized by the University Senate, or a degree in a science-based discipline from a recognized university.
Bachelor of Science in Information Technology for Business (BBIT)
A minimum of grade D+ in both Mathematics and Physics or Physical Sciences and a mean grade of C+ in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE). A degree in a science-based discipline from a recognized university or a diploma or professional certificate in a computing discipline from an institution recognized by the University Senate.

Teacher Professional Development (TPD)
This program allows teachers to get a better understanding of and practice high-quality teacher/instructional leadership in order to deliver a rewarding learning experience for students, colleagues, and themselves.
Each module’s content is based on current knowledge and research that is relevant to the needs of a Kenyan classroom teacher and instructional leader.
The module’s learning activities are motivated by a goal to help teachers and instructional leaders master Kenya’s Professional Teaching Standards (KePTS).
Blended learning is the mode of study. Teachers will study from the comfort of their own seats (online) and in person at Riara University’s 290 sub-county centers across the country.
